Modern views and changes within the culture have driven hip hop in a new consumer direction. It appears artists and listeners have lost sight of what hip-hop originally stood for. CircleAroundTheA has not forgotten, and has spent the last couple of years digging in the crates to bring out an EP of fresh, unpolished beats that stay true to the originators.

His beats are simple on the outside but really very detailed, with everything carefully sampled and constructed. The title track is seeping with reflective imagery, whilst other tracks such as the macabre “I’ll Throw Rocks at You” channel The Lost Children of Babylon.

CircleAroundTheA isn't about making top 40 single beats. This isn’t the soundtrack to getting drunk in the club’s VIP while texting on your Blackberry or whatever commercial Hip Hop has marketed to you last week. This is music to stick in the background as you go about your daily routine: cruising in the car, chillaxing at home, weeding your garden, revolting against the state etc.
